Built as a warehouse in 1921 for the Rice Stix Dry Goods Company, The Locust Building began its conversion to office use in 1959. Two local brothers, whose manufacturing business was in the building, saw an opportunity at a time when many others had given up on downtown. They created, so we are given to believe, the first downtown office building to have its own in-building parking. By the time they sold the building in 1986, The Locust Building had achieved the reputation of one of the cleanest, most efficiently operated and most service oriented office properties in downtown. The current ownership consists of individuals who are either tenants or involved in management of the property. We continue to provide quality space at affordable prices with extreme emphasis on tenant service.
